JOB SUMMARY

The Customer Service Representative position involves managing guests, telephone calls and messages in a professional and efficient manner. It is fundamental as they present the first and foremost impression of an organization to customers and clients. In addition, they develop and maintain close professional relations with branch and potential customers to attain team sales goals. Also, they provide proactive sales tasks of basic products and refer more complex requests to sales and service associates with detailed expertise. They are part of the inside sales team and they are driven by the outside sales team.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Comply with Westlake' Safety Policies and Procedures.
  • Regular attendance, timeliness and scheduling flexibility.
  • Answering the telephone, screening calls, taking and relaying messages.
  • Dealing with inquiries or requests from the customers.
  • Providing general clerical and administrative support to the Customer Service Manager.
  • Making follow up calls and emails to previous customers.
  • Provide proactive sales tasks of basic products to refer more complex requests to sales and service associate with detailed expertise.
  • Meet sales schedules.
  • Review Orders from the customers.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
  • Knowledge of clerical and administrative procedures.
  • Knowledge of consumer service practices and principles.
  • Strong keyboard skills.
  • Good communication skills and professional personal presentation.
  • Customer service orientation.
  • Great attention to detail and stress tolerance.
  • Honest, respectful, and trustworthy.
  • Microsoft office knowledge.
  • Order entry skills.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

The employee should have the following:
  • High School education is a minimum requirement
  • Bachelor's preferred
  • 2 + years of customer service experience preferred
ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT

The employee should possess the ability to:
  • Prolonged sitting
  • Complete repetitive movements such as typing
  • Be exposed to sounds or noise levels that maybe uncomfortable
  • Complete repetitive movements
  • Wear all required personal protective equipment (hearing, vision and hardhat protection)
  • Lift/move/transport items up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to move or traverse about the facilities
  • Must be able to ascend/descend stairs or ladders
  • Ability to work around dust, chemicals, and other substances, and in various environmental conditions
