Job Summary and Qualifications

As a Pharmacist, you will maintain strong knowledge of hospital policies and government regulations and dispenses medications accordingly. What You Will Do In This Role:

* You will be responsible for reviewing the medication therapy and ensuring it is appropriate for the patients diagnosis.

* You will evaluate medication orders, accurately and safely compound medications in acceptable dosage forms, appropriately package and dispense pre-manufactured dosage forms.

* You will identify and consult on possible drug interactions.

* You will effectively and accurately provide education or in-services on rational medication therapy and medication procedures to healthcare professionals, students, patients, or the public as needed.

* You will assist in the supervision and training of pharmacy technician personnel.

* You will maintain knowledge pertaining to facility utilization of automated dispensing processes including the use of automated dispensing units, Connect RX, over wrap packaging, and barcoding within the facility.

What Qualifications You Will Need:

* Registered Pharmacist Certificate and current renewal certification issued by the Texas State Board of Pharmacy is required.

* Requires Bachelor of Science Degree in Pharmacy, or Pharm. D degree from an accredited College of Pharmacy is required.

* Texas IV certification is required.

* BLS is required

Corpus Christi Medical Center is a 630+ bed healthcare system of hospitals in Corpus Christi and the surrounding Coastal Bend community. Bay Area is our full-service acute care hospital and offers state-of-the-art cardiovascular services, bariatric, GYN and robotic surgery. The Womens Center at Bay Area, with its NICU Unit, is also the home of our graduate medical education program. Doctors Regional is our acute care hospital, with a 24-hour emergency department, cardiac catheterization labs, orthopedic and surgical services, and inpatient rehabilitation. The Heart Hospital offers complete diagnostics, treatment, surgery and rehabilitation for cardiac patients. Northwest Regional/Northwest Behavior Health Center provides emergency medical services, laboratory, imaging services and outpatient behavioral health services. Bayview Behavioral Hospital provides inpatient and outpatient short-term treatment for psychiatric patients ages 12 years and older, as well as substance abuse treatment. Northshore Emergency Center is a full-service 24-7 emergency department in Portland that offers outpatient laboratory, imaging and occupational services. Radiation Oncology offers advanced technology for treating cancer with the latest and most specific radiation therapies available.
