The mission of the Colorado Coalition for the Homeless is to work collaboratively toward the prevention of homelessness and the creation of lasting solutions for homeless and at-risk families, children, and individuals throughout Colorado. The Coalition advocates for and provides a continuum of housing and a variety of services to improve the health, well-being, and stability of those it serves.
The Colorado Coalition currently seeks an Accountant III to assist with maintaining the General Ledger for CCH. This includes assisting with month-end close, preparing and entering journal entries, and reconciling general ledger accounts. Maintains schedules and meets deadlines as assigned. This position is located at 2111 Champa St., Denver, CO, 80205 and reports to the Accounting Manager.

Essential Job Functions
1. Analyzes and prepares monthly journal entries for recurring expenses and revenues, accruals and deferrals, allocated expenses, and/or other adjusting entries.
2. Reconciles general ledger accounts on a monthly basis including intercompany notes, prepaid expenses, and certain receivables.
3. Maintains documented accounting procedures and internal controls.
4. Assists with monthly budget variance analysis for the board financials.
5. Assists with annual financial audit, including ongoing maintenance of subsidiary general ledger schedules and compilation of supporting documentation.
6. Assists with the Coalition’s annual tax return.
7. Develops and implements processes to increase efficiency and effectiveness within the Accounting Department.
8. Serves as a backup for other general ledger functions.
9. Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications Summary
1. Bachelor’s degree in accounting required, Master’s degree in accounting and/or CPA license preferred.
2. Five years of experience working with the full range of general ledger accounts and functions required, previous experience with intercompany accounting preferred.
3. Previous experience using and maintaining a computerized accounting system required, experience with Sage Intacct software preferred.
