TMHCC Stop Loss, a $2 Billion division within TMHCC, leads the way in providing medical stop loss insurance sold to employers. Hybrid work position with 4 days at our Kennesaw Office and 1 day remote.

About the role:

General supervision and lead, directs and performs complex accounting activities relating to the development of state supplemental filings, managerial reports and statutory financial statements.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Proficient utilization of in-house resources and applications including PeopleSoft, Statutory Reporting software, data warehouse, Microsoft Office and other applications for timely reporting requirements.
  • Ensure accurate and timely reporting in accordance with regulatory requirements.
  • Participate in the development and maintenance of reporting necessary to support statutory financial reporting and supplemental reporting.
  • Preparation of key statutory exhibits while also providing guidance to staff for their completion of other exhibits.
  • Compile and analyze financial information to prepare and post entries to general ledger accounts and to document business transactions.
  • Facilitate external audit inquiries.
  • Track reporting requirements and maintain consistent workflow metrics for purpose of streamlining.
  • Complete special projects and other duties as needed.
  • Research statutory blank changes and other reporting changes impacting statutory financial statement and supplemental reporting.
Education & Experience:
  • 4 year Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance or a related field or the equivalent education and/or experience
  • 5 years relevant and progressive experience in accounting and/or finance
  • CPA designation or equivalent is a plus
  • Detail knowledge to quarterly and annual statutory and regulatory reporting.
  • Strong work ethic with dependable, consistent performance and effective time management skills.
  • Display independent analytical thinking and problem-solving ability based on sound judgement and decisions with attention to detail.
  • Exhibit excellent communication skills with staff in cross functional areas and levels of management.
  • Motivated individual with a teamwork mindset to produce timely and accurate results.
  • Flexibility to work overtime during peak demands periods.
  • Solid understanding of Statutory Accounting Principles
  • Possess and have ability to apply broad knowledge of principles, practices, and procedures
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills with an emphasis on confidentiality, tact, and diplomacy
  • Exceptional organizational and analytical skills; demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Knowledgeable of industry changes, legal updates, and technical developments related to applicable area of the Company's business to proactively respond to changing business environment
  • Proficiency and experience using Microsoft Office package (Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Word).
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while adhering to established deadlines and timetables.
  • Experience working in a challenging, fast-paced, team environment.
