Job Summary The Arizona Department of Economic Security (DES) is seeking a Quality Assurance Investigative Nurse to join the Division of Developmental Disabilities (DDD). This role focuses on member?centric investigations, corrective action planning, and compliance assurance across developmental disability services. Job Title: Quality Assurance Investigative Nurse Location: 4000 N. Central Avenue, Phoenix, AZ 85007 Salary: $66,000.00 $78,000.00 Grade: 22 Closing Date: 11/11/2025 Responsibilities Conduct timely, thorough investigations of member quality?of?care issues and develop vendor?specific corrective action plans using standardized processes. Make appropriate referrals to oversight and regulatory agencies and participate in care?concern reviews as assigned. Track and trend member?centric and systemic quality?of?care issues, maintain correctional action plan resolution records in division databases and in the AHCCCS QMS Portal, and elevate cases or trend concerns to the QOC supervisor. Maintain comprehensive documentation to support investigative case work and ensure compliance with all reporting and substantiation requirements. Participate in peer review meetings, technical assistance, focused audits/reviews, and ensure all work aligns with AHCCCS policies. Qualifications Registered Nurse licensed in Arizona. One (1) year of experience working with the intellectual disability population. Knowledge of acute care delivery, nursing scope of practice, AHCCCS, DHS, CMS regulations, and quality?management principles. Proficiency in data?base technology, Microsoft Office, and electronic referral and verification sources. Strong oral and written communication, interpersonal skills, and the ability to analyze problems and develop corrective action plans. Pre?Employment Requirements Current Arizona registered nurse license and Level One fingerprint clearance card issued pursuant to Arizona Revised Statute 41?1968. Background and reference checks, including searches of the Department of Child Safety Central Registry, Adult Protective Services Registry, and the Arizona Child Safety Registry. Successful completion of the Electronic Employment Eligibility Verification Program (E?Verify). Successful driving record and valid drivers license if the position requires driving essential functions of the job.
