Innovate With Ansys, Power Your Career. SUMMARY R&D Engineer II contributes to the development of software products and supporting systems. As part of Office of CTO, in this role you will be researching and developing techniques to accelerate quantum computing workloads relevant to Ansys. In specific, s/he will work with different partners of Ansys to implement and work on algorithms such as, but not limited to, Quantum Machine Learning, Physics Informed QML or Variational Quantum Algorithms (VQA). RESPONSIBILITIES Research and develop quantum computing algorithms such as QML or VQA and specifically QPINNs, VQite or QAOA as applied to numerical simulations and physics. Research and develop how to solve optimization problems in physics using gradient and gradient free quantum or ML algorithms such as QGA, or classical approaches. Participate in brainstorming, planning, architecture, and research. Craft and optimize core parallel algorithms and data structures to provide the best solutions using Ansys tools. Publish and present discovered optimization techniques in Ansys blogs or relevant technical conferences to engage and educate the developer community. Diagnose and fix code problems. Create unit regression and/or system-level tests to thoroughly validate new features or changes. Works under the general supervision of a development manager. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Masters in Engineering, Computer Science, with focus on applied maths or physics or related field. Programming fluency in Python and C/C++ with a deep understanding of algorithms, programming techniques, and software design. Familiarity with quantum concepts and techniques, including common quantum algorithms such as Quantum Fourier Transform (QFT), Quantum Phase Estimation (QPE), and Quantum Approximate Optimization Algorithm (QAOA). PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Experience on quantum computing programming, with languages such as Qiskit or Pennylane. Experience on general purposes computing on GPU, Cuda-Q and Nvidia quantum stack or AWS quantum stack. At Ansys, we know that changing the world takes vision, skill, and each other.
