*US Citizenship Required - willing and able to obtain DOD Clearance if later hired direct Local Candidates ONLY - In person interview requiredWill be either 1st or 2nd shift (1st shift: 6:00am - 2:30 pm, and 2nd shift: 2:00pm - 10:30 pmSummary:Use precision measuring instruments, inspect parts and feature characteristics as well as manufacturing methods to blueprint specifications. Basic Requirements:•High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED)•Experience working in a manufacturing environment•Knowledge of machining methods, cutting qualities of metals and toolsDetailed Duties:•Machine large components using one or more of the following pieces of equipment; saws, horizontal and vertical boring mills, key seater, lathes, and measuring devices•Utilize methods used to hold and fixture work through the use of shims, wedges, parallels, blocks, supports, chucks and other holding devices to obtain proper alignment and to avoid moving or breaking of tools and parts•Work to machine dimensions and maintain close tolerances and correlated dimensions with a high demand for squareness, concentricity, finish and parallelism•Layout work as required. Select speeds and feeds according to type of material and finish requirements•Using a variety of precision measuring instruments, inspect in process or finished parts to validate above mentioned form and feature characteristics as well as manufacturing methods to blueprint specifications. Read, understand and follow set-up procedures, operate and adjust machines. Operate and adjust machine controls to meet variable machining conditions
