Job Title: Buyer/Planner

Location: Houston, TX (77061)

Work Hours: Monday-Friday, 8AM-5PM

Pay Rate: $60K-80K annually

Our client is a leader in motion, technology, and instrumentation and sealing technology. They are seeking a motivated BUYER/PLANNER to join their Houston, TX team.

The Buyer/Planner is responsible for managing the procurement of materials and services to support quality, delivery, and cost requirements. This role involves planning, scheduling, and monitoring the efficient movement of materials through the production cycle to ensure timely shipment of products.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Prepare requests for quotations and submit purchase orders with approved suppliers.
  • Issue purchase orders and agreements reflecting accurate price, schedule, terms, and conditions.
  • Negotiate and settle claims related to damages, rejections, losses, returns, over-shipments, cancellations, and engineering changes.
  • Plan, schedule, and manage production capacity to ensure maximum on-time delivery.
  • Maintain and ensure the accuracy of open purchase orders, quotes, work orders, and part master data.
  • Resolve shipment quality discrepancies by mediating between suppliers and manufacturing teams.
  • Participate in supplier site visits to evaluate production capabilities, performance, and delivery metrics.
  • Participate in continuous improvement activities, offering suggestions for cost reduction and efficiency enhancements.
  • Comply with Government/Commercial Practices Manual (GPM/CPM) policies and procedures.

The Experience:

  • 4+ years of Negotiation Experience; REQUIRED
  • Microsoft Office and ERP Knowledge, REQUIRED
