Job Description Position Summary: The Disability Allies (DA) is dedicated to providing social opportunities to connect young adults and children with and without disabilities. The Human Resources Assistant is a part-time volunteer position that involves a commitment of a few hours a week. You must be willing to join us at our monthly meetings on the second Saturday of the month. The Human Resources Assistant will assist the Human Resources Director with various human resources responsibilities. The title of the position is subject to change before being hired. Responsibilities: Provide customer service; screen and direct phone calls, take and relay messages, answer questions from associates and the public regarding human resources issues, rules, and regulations. Maintain human resources files ensuring timely and accurate records. Manage the flow of Personnel Action Forms. Identify and attend industry-specific job fairs and recruiting events. Data entry. Support new hire activities related to hiring and processing, including background checks, reference checks, and coordination of drug testing. Assist the HR Director in research projects. Other assignments as directed by the HR Director. Qualifications Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills. Ability to work under steady pressure with frequent interruptions and a high degree of contact by phone and in person. Must be able to multi-task. Ability to work in a team and independently. Ability to effectively manage multiple projects with overlapping tasks and timelines.
