PART-TIME POSITION AVAILABLEHousekeeper

This position is apart-time, non-exempt level position that will report to the Pastor, Rev.Jean-Marie Nsambu. The Housekeeper will be responsible for the daily functionsof the cleaning and upkeep of the church rectory, along with the laundering oflinens, towels, and clothes to ensure the residence remains in a clean andorderly manner at all times.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE THEFOLLOWING:

  • Ensures the annual deep cleaning of the walls, doors, windows, baseboards, exterior doors, and entry ways of the residence.
  • Vacuuming of draperies and dusting of window blinds.
  • Vacuuming of rugs and upholstered furniture.
  • Dusting and polishing furniture and cleaning metal fixtures.
  • Replace any burnt lightbulbs.
  • Sweeping, vacuuming, mopping and polishing of floors using brooms, mops, and vacuum.
  • Cleaning of all air vents and changing air filters monthly.
  • Prepare and decorate common rooms for any social or business functions.
  • Clean and sanitize kitchen cabinets, countertops, and appliances including but not limited to refrigerators, stove, oven, and microwave.
  • Washing of dishes, cooking utensils, silverware, and organizing into appropriate locations.
  • Empty, clean, and sanitize trash containers.
  • Take out trash bags and put them into an outside garbage bin and ensure the garbage bin is by the road for garbage collection days.
  • Disinfection of bathrooms by cleaning showers/ tubs, sinks, toilets, floors, and bathroom mirrors.
  • Empty waste baskets and trash into main garbage can and replenish with new waste bag.
  • Change and wash all bathroom towels and bathmats.
  • Launder and change bed linens weekly; make up beds after laundering ad directed by the Pastor.
  • Launder clothes and fold/ hang up clothes as directed by the Pastor.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Pastor.

QUALIFICATIONS TO PERFORM THE JOB SUCCESSFULLY:

Education and/or Experience:
  • Highschool Diploma or equivalent preferred
  • General housekeeping and cooking skills.
Other Skills and Requirements:
  • Must be able to successfully complete Safe Environment training.
  • Knowledge of Catholic Church and its teachings and values.
  • Must have a driver's license with a good driving record.
  • Must have own transportation.
  • Ability to understand, follow, and transmit oral and written instructions.
  • Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds.
  • Must be able to climb up and down stairs, stoop, crawl, and bend over.


Schedule:5hours / week; Tuesday from 8AM to 1PM.

Weekend work or other day may be asneeded
