JOB TITLE: Housekeeper

GENERAL SUMMARY OF DUTIES:

The primary responsibility of the housekeeper is to uphold the cleanliness and sanitation of the healthcare facility, ensuring a cohesive, welcoming, and efficient atmosphere for patients, their families, and staff members.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Completion of High School or equivalent GED is mandatory.
  • Ability to interact and collaborate effectively with others.
  • Proven proficiency in verbal and written English communication for safe and effective patient care, as well as to meet documentation requirements.
  • Willingness to engage in goal-setting and educational opportunities for personal professional growth.
  • Prior experience in cleaning or floor maintenance within a healthcare setting is advantageous.
  • Awareness of professional standards and adherence to them is essential.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:

  • Relocate equipment as needed to facilitate thorough cleaning behind various areas.
  • Disinfect and clean all furniture and equipment using a germicidal solution and a clean cloth, including IV poles, suction canisters, doors, tables, and beds.
  • Conduct a comprehensive cleaning of each room from ceiling to floor, including janitorial closets.
  • Ensure all air conditioning vents are cleaned.
  • Wash all walls thoroughly.
  • Sanitize all sinks, toilets, and countertops using approved germicidal solutions.
  • Dust all surfaces, ledges, and panels.
  • Clean all windows meticulously.
  • Mop all floors with approved germicidal solutions.
  • Clean all baseboards thoroughly.
  • Vacuum all carpeted areas.
  • Dispose of all waste appropriately.
  • Wipe down all exterior surfaces with approved germicidal solutions.
  • Compile a list of necessary supplies.
  • Verify that all housekeeping equipment is functioning properly.
