Our client in Nashville in the electric utility industry is seeking a Billing Analyst to join their team.

This is a 6+ month contract position with an August start date and a hybrid schedule, with 1-2 days/week in office.

Responsibilities:

Prepare and process customer bills accurately and on time, verifying meter readings and usage data. Identify and correct billing exceptions, including high/low usage discrepancies and setup errors. Perform stopped meter analyses to identify and resolve issues. Analyze billing data to identify trends, errors, and opportunities for improvement, and prepare related reports. Address and resolve customer inquiries and billing issues, providing support regarding billing procedures. Communicate effectively with Customer Service, Engineering, and other departments to resolve billing issues. Review billing exception reports, ensure compliance with regulations, and assist in reconciling billing accounts. Perform various processes involving customer energy loans, adjustments, refunds, social agency vouchers and pledges, and returned checks. Interact with and provide information to social agencies. Perform in-depth analyses, reporting, rate updates, and reconciliations as needed.

Qualifications:

Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in billing, preferably within the utility or energy sector. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Proficiency in billing software and Advanced Excel (VLOOKUPS, Pivot Tables) Excellent attention to detail and accuracy. Determining compensation for this role (and others) at Vaco depends upon a wide array of factors including but not limited to: the individual's skill sets, experience and training; licensure and certification requirements; office location and other geographic considerations; other business and organizational needs.
