**Job Description:**

**Starting wage is based on experience and shift. In addition to a base wage, every associate is eligible for quarterly profit sharing Various shifts are available and off shifts include additional shift differential pay.**

Under the direction of the department supervisor, responsible for assuring department personnel have the resources and knowledge needed to perform the requirements of their positions and that daily department goals and objectives are achieved. Create, document, monitor and improve Standard Work, using LEAN Standard Work Analysis. Utilize personnel to ensure the quality and quantity of parts being processed through Standard Work by performing the following duties.

**ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:**

* Prioritize the workflow of the department personnel to attain daily production requirements.

* Facilitate start-ofshift meetings as needed.

* Continually assess resources of the line (materials, people, and machines) and communicate to supervisor any impacts to production.

* Communicate with other leads and supervisors to assure accurate and timely completion of production parts.

* Assist in the creation of Job Instruction (JI) and train associates to the JI.

* Perform daily floor inspections to ensure quality and quantity of work in process, the following of standard work, spot potential safety hazards, identify continuous improvement opportunities and implement ideas where appropriate.

* Continuously identify and eliminate waste.

* Keep the work area clean and orderly.

* Keep supervisor informed about workflow in the department as well as any problems encountered in processing current parts.

* Accurately complete and/or ensure that all necessary paperwork is completed on a timely basis, according to defined deliverable schedule.

* Participate in training as mandated by OSHA standards. Look for additional educational opportunities to improve job skills.

* Maintain safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations and monitor employees operations to ensure compliance.

* Assume responsibilities of department supervisor in their absence.

* Other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

**MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:**

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Must have a sense of urgency and demonstrate the ability to relay this to

subordinates. Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos and complete required forms is essential. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from management as well as other employees is required. Ability to follow through on all aspects of the position and assigned tasks and have personal accountability. Ability to identify and solve problems associated with their role and department. Ability to identify and work with different personalities types to achieve defined goals and objectives. Has the technical knowledge and capabilities required to successfully execute the requirements of the position. Ability to build team unity and motivate others. Leads by example.

**EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:**

**Preferred; a minimum of one year experience, together with familiarization of the required processes.**

**Must have demonstrated through past performance the ability to make logical decisions using sound judgment and factual information. Must be**

**able to learn quickly and adjust to changes rapidly. Strong leadership skills and good interpersonal communication skills required. Supervisory experience desirable.**

**MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:**

Ability to add, subtract, divide and multiply using whole numbers.

**REASONING ABILITY:**

Ability to solve practical problems and an understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. The employee must be

able to write/type, speak, hear, talk, read, and inspect in English.

**PHYSICAL DEMANDS:**

Lifting: Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds, but typically lifts less than 1 pound. Push/pull: Typically 1-5 pounds, but must be able to push/pull

up to 100 pounds. Job is performed in a sitting position. Twisting, rotating of fingers, hands, wrists, forearms, elbows, biceps, knees, legs, ankles,

hips, shoulders, neck, upper & lower back are required. Must be able to bend, stoop, pivot and walk occasionally. This position requires frequent exposure to vibration impact of the hand, arm and shoulder. Functions of the job are performed multiple times per minute, multiple times per hour and multiple times per shift. These actions occur typically at waist and shoulder level.

**WORK ENVIRONMENT:**

While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts. Is regularly exposed to airborne

particles. Employee is exposed to loud noises, as loud as 85 dcB or higher. Those areas are in a mandatory hearing conservation program

as required by OSHA standards. Personal protective equipment that is required includes hearing protection (either ear buds or ear muffs),

hyflex gloves that are specified for the line, leather apron, and eye protection. Periodic stretching and hand exercises are recommended to

help prevent possible injuries due to the repetitive nature of this job.
