Freese and Nichols is searching for a Transportation Engineer to join our Fort Worth, Texas office. You will serve as a transportation engineer supporting projects related to transportation. We want to grow future leaders and technical experts and are deeply committed to employee development and training. As a Transportation EIT you will:
    • Utilize criteria and design standards to perform engineering tasks and develop sound recommendations for the project owner.
    • Interface with clients and develop strong working relationships through project interaction.
    • Provide direction and support to inspection and testing personnel assigned to projects and coordinate these activities for efficient completion of work.
    • Gather, correlate, and utilize raw data for the formation of a product suitable for review by the Project Engineer. Perform calculations and analyses necessary to complete assigned tasks.
    • Complete intermediate design activities that meet requirements of established criteria and applicable design manuals.
    • Participate with project team to conduct investigations, gather data, and prepare supporting documentation and final format of assigned tasks for field changes and decision making purposes.
    • On project assignments, provide quality work within the scope and guidelines defined by the Project Engineer. Perform assignments within the schedules agreed upon by the Project Manager.
Qualifications
  • 1+ years of experience performing engineering tasks in a related field
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent field
  • General understanding of civil engineering and transportation projects
  • Certification of Engineer-in-Training (EIT)
  • Previous TxDOT Experience or desire to work on TxDOT projects (preferred)
  • AutoCAD Civil 3D and Microstation experience (Microstation preferred)
