Unlock your potentialJob Summary and QualificationsPOSITION SUMMARY:Under direct supervision, performs daily cleaning tasks for patient rooms, nursing stations, lounges, offices, clinic areas and any other areas assigned in accordance with standard procedures of the Housekeeping Department and in accordance with facility standards and objectivesSPECIFIC ELEMENTS & ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:Perform all Housekeeping related tasks demonstrating service orientation to patients, visitors, fellow employees, doctors , nurses and other hospital staff.Perform basic cleaning functions in assigned areas following established schedules and using prescribed methods.Dusts horizontal surfacesEmpties, wipes and relines wastebasketsDamp wipe disinfects all furnitureCleans and polishes metal and porcelain fixtures in bathroomsDust mops and damp mops floorsSpot clean walls and windowsPolishes metal surfacesReplenishes paper and soap suppliesStrips bed linens to perform discharge cleaningPerforms discharge cleaning as neededUses a safety ladder to remove and replace cubicle curtainsPerforms precaution room cleaning as neededVacuums carpets, spot cleans as neededTransports soiled linen to collection pointMeasure and mix bleach and other cleaning solutionsAssist in cleaning up of spills as neededMaintain assigned equipment for cleanliness and recommend repairs as neededObserve and report the need for repairs to furniture, building and fixturesIn case of fire or other internal disaster, assists in evacuating patientsIn case of a community disaster, assists nursing as neededPerform all other tasks as assignedExperience and EducationHigh School Diploma or GEDSituated in Portsmouth, NH, Portsmouth Regional Hospital is a premier 234-bed acute care facility that offers exceptional healthcare services to the Seacoast region of Massachusetts, Maine, and New Hampshire.
