KYC Onboarding Manager
Support our Trust & Safety team to create the safest and most efficient experience for campaign creators and donors while ensuring a transparent and seamless onboarding process. We are seeking a proactive individual with experience in KYC, compliance, and client-facing roles.
Job Description:
As the KYC and Trust & Safety Manager you will be responsible for managing a team of KYC specialists to ensure campaigns and users are onboarded effectively and quickly while adhering to established policies, procedures and current regulations. This role requires effective communication skills to work with employees and leadership across multiple time zones. Your responsibilities include:
Managing the Global Trust & Safety specialists to review campaign applications, ensuring compliance with established policies and procedures.
Reviewing and analyzing documents provided by customers and users to determine validity and adherence to KYC requirements.
Handling sensitive user-facing issues to protect the platform and ensure user safety.
Assisting Trust & Safety specialists in resolving customer concerns via phone, email, and other resolution platforms.
Conducting regular audits of team work for accuracy and SLA requirements and providing feedback to enhance skills and experience.
Being a decision-maker for cases where users do not comply with guidelines, policies, or terms of use.
Overseeing daily team activities, projects, and risk reviews, with a team of 10 members.
Collaborating with compliance teams to share and optimize the experience for users
Tracking and analyzing operational metrics to optimize team workflows and improve efficiency.
Assisting with hiring and onboarding new team members.
Responsibilities:
Perform initial KYC due diligence for new and existing clients
Review incoming documents for clients in accordance with the compliance policies
Managing resources to ensure 24/7 coverage of department
Conduct screenings and evaluate negative news related to existing clients and prospects
Develop a deep understanding of our products and services
Familiarity with various legal entity types, understanding and articulating ownership chains and organizational structures of varying complexity
Maintain working knowledge of appropriate BSA and OFAC laws and regulations
Understand Customer Identification Program (CIP), Ultimate Beneficial Ownership (UBO), and Customer Due Diligence (CDD) requirements and related procedures
Be an active risk manager, recognize the factors that impact client risk rating and due diligence requirements
Work cross-functionally with internal teams to discuss changes or updates to our KYC/AML requirements, policy, and procedure and how they impact ours users
Recommend, develop, and implement solutions to support continuous improvement of our processes, procedures, and services for a seamless experience
Appropriately escalate issues to management, compliance, and the business
Handle sensitive and confidential information in accordance with policy
Qualifications:
3-5 years of experience in KYC, customer risk analysis, or trust & safety team management.
Excellent decision-making skills with awareness of community nuances and challenges.
Previous experience in trust & safety, fraud prevention, or compliance is desirable.
Understanding of rules, regulations, and regulatory requirements related to KYC and AML.
Knowledge of how to work with non-profits and/or NGOs globally
Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
Positive attitude, problem-solving skills, and empathy towards users.
Confidence, good judgment, and the ability to remain level-headed in complex situations.
Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to establish trust and empathy.
Extreme attention to detail and passion for helping people.
Resilient team player with a proactive attitude toward continuous improvement.
