Deputy Logistics Chief

· Serves as the “second in command” of all logistics matters during a complex military training exercise consisting of approximately 3,800 US Soldiers. · Assists in planning and then executes the management of overall contract logistical and sustainment support activities to include planning required to support an XCTC rotation. · Assists in managing all aspects of the logistics for a rotation team to include management of all Government Furnished Equipment (GFE) and Contractor Acquired Property (CAP); maintenance operations for all vehicles and equipment issued as GFP or acquired as CAP; procurement; warehousing and storage of GFP, CAP and associated supplies; and rotational commodity management and reporting. · Assists Logistics Quality Control (QC) operations to include conducting inspections, audits, analysis, and reporting. Works closely with the ESC Chief to ensure logistics responsiveness and efficiency. · Coordinates and assists shipping, receiving, packaging, and storage of items in stock locations in accordance with Government and contract guidelines. · Documents inventory and shipment of property and work orders via local and web- based reporting system, providing system functional briefings to team, customer, and management team. · Provides logistics guidance and work leadership to the rotation team in accordance with contract and work processes. · Drafts the MILES request going to the Army’s Training Support Center for Government approval. · Inspects the GFP inventory Mission Configured Property Set (MCPS), or Government Furnished Property (GFP) Set list for accuracy and densities to support the rotations that are assigned the MCPS / GFP sets prior to shipping. · Plans and coordinates rotation contractor life support to include maintaining portable office buildings, warehouse tents, material handling equipment, material storage on site, equipment service requirements, transportation, medical support, and lodging. · Manages contractor life support during a rotation, to include maintaining portable office buildings, warehouse tents, material handling equipment, material storage on site, equipment service requirements, transportation, medical support, and lodging. QUALIFICATIONS: · Specific Knowledge & Skills Required: Minimum of 2 years Sustainment Planning and execution experience at Battalion level and above. Minimum 1 years battalion Level Support Operations experience in a sustainment unit with either an Army National Guard or United States Army training or maneuver brigade or division preferred. Minimum of 3 years of experience with procurement, shipping, receiving, transportation, inventory, maintenance, and all other supply chain activities. Understands and displays knowledge of U.S. Army logistics operations. Capable of supervising and managing 4-6 labor team leads and a labor pool of 20-30 personnel. · Licenses/Certifications/Registrations, etc.: Must possess a valid State Driver's License and maintain military installation driving privileges. Must pass background check to allow access to Department of Defense (DOD) or State Installations. Must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance and meet other eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Must be able to successfully pass the Defense Information System Agency (DISA) Information Systems Security (INFOSEC) Awareness compact disk—read-only memory (CD-ROM) course as a minimum training requirement. · Communication Skills: Able to read, write and speak fluent English. Microsoft Office - Skilled in using Microsoft Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word. Must be able to listen with comprehension to assist fellow associates with duties/requests. Must have excellent verbal communication skills to interact effectively with varying backgrounds (engineers, technicians, and military personnel) · Physical/Mental Abilities Required: Ability to use good judgment and common sense when performing job functions. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Ability to prioritize and perform multiple tasks at the same time under stressful conditions. The highest level of confidentiality and loyalty is required. Ability to lift to 50 pounds on a regular basis. EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) desired, or 5 years’ experience in lieu of degree. ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS: · Employment is contingent on successful completion of a background check. · A drug screen will be required as part of the hiring process. · Ability to travel for extended periods required. · Due to government requirements for this role and the nature of the work, candidates must be U.S. Citizens with the ability to obtain and maintain a government security clearance.
