**Description**

***Ocean Beauty Seafoods is a large and well-known Seafood Distribution Company.*** Our Portland distribution facility is looking for an Order Packer to box and pull frozen product in an accurate and timely manner from our freezer and coordinate the pack out with the fresh packer according to customers needs.

We are looking for someone that has experience in the handling and processing of frozen meat or seafood. This is an important position with room to make decisions, work with plant and sales personnel, and be a strong member of the team. Some understanding of inventory control and production desired. Must be accurate in recording of product information, understand basic math, and able to communicate with all employees, especially the sales staff.

**Essential functions of the job include:**

* Properly pick and pack each frozen order accurately by customer standards and specifications

* Properly rotate and pick frozen product to specifications

* Properly label boxes with customer name, route number, weights, and contents in each box

* Weigh product or count pieces before packing and record weights/counts with 100% accuracy

* Understand safety and manufacturing practices in the handling of food productsReceives incoming product and records weight, number of boxes, species, counts, each, size

This position requires a self-starter with good oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills. Must be able to work independently and as a team, and follow written and oral directions. Must possess a good safety record, and have experience in operating a pallet jack.
