- Effectively communicate with a high volume of internal and external customers about billing and contracts via phone and email
- Utilize internal resources to pull original sales and leasing paperwork for internal and external review
- Provide thorough explanation of and practice consistent adherence to the terms and conditions of various contracts
- Set up new customer account records and correct existing accounts as needed
- Use financial software to review and correct contract billing records with a high level of attention to detail
- Perform thorough research of an account's billing history and determine the appropriate actions needed to address/resolve billing disputes
- Determine when credit memos are needed and calculate/issue credit memos using the proper financial codes
- Process customer data changes and make filing entry of the actions taken
- Make outbound calls to obtain meter readings necessary for billing; calculate estimated meter readings when actual data is unavailable
- Complete other duties within the accounting department as assigned
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Strong numerical, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Customer-focused and dependable self-starter
- Ability to work closely with teammates to meet deadlines
- Ability to handle a fast-paced, high-volume call queue environment
- Ability to multi-task through different applications/screens
- Ability to handle sitting for long periods of time
- High school diploma
- Computer experience/ability to type 35+ wpm
- Office work or customer service experience
