LOCATION: Central Services Facility
HOURS: 27.5 per week
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS: This position is paid in accordance with the Greenville Educational Support Personnel Association Master Agreement. This position is not eligible for benefits.

JOB SUMMARY: The Work-Based Learning Van Driver will provide safe transportation for students to and from job sites utilizing the school van.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: other duties may be assigned
  • Maintain a safe and respectful environment on the school van
  • Maintain a consistent schedule based on assigned route
  • Communicate with parents as necessary regarding student behavior
  • Keep accurate route records with instructions for a substitute
  • Perform required pre-trip inspections and report equipment defects to the mechanic
  • Keep the interior of the van clean
  • Operate the van in accordance with all applicable laws and district policies
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
  • Willing to work with students of all ages and abilities
  • Experience working with at-risk students or students with learning challenges preferred
  • Aptitude for forming positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues
  • Ability to work closely with teachers and other support staff
  • Positive and helpful attitude towards students and other employees
  • Must be able to successfully complete CPI training and implement CPI strategies
  • Must be able to pass a criminal background check with no criminal history

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

High school diploma or equivalent

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, AND REGISTRATIONS:

Valid Michigan driver's license
