Description

NWFC is seeking a Patient Services Representative for our Plymouth facility.

At Northwest Family Clinics we take pride in our independent business model. The owners of our clinics are physicians. We work side by side with our dedicated staff to provide exceptional care to patients without the burden of heavy administrative overhead. We are independently owned and patient-focused with three clinic locations and over 100 healthcare providers, support staff and administrative professionals working as a team to deliver outstanding health care.

The Patient Services Representative reports to the Site Operations Manager. The Patient Services Representative will:
  • Attend to patients on the phone.
  • Coordinate and organize appointments and documentation to Patient Service Representative - Scheduler/Medical Record
  • Facilitate the smooth running of the healthcare environment and support delivery of quality patient care.
  • Process all medical records requests through prompt and courteous service in a fast-paced, high volume, customer-focused environment.
  • Responsible for ensuring accuracy and safeguarding patient's right to privacy by adhering to company policy and HIPAA regulations.
RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Books, coordinates and reschedules patients appointments
  • Maintains and updates current information on provider's schedules ensuring that patients are scheduled properly.
  • Address credit issues as directed by the financial policy
  • Responsible for updating patient information, verifying patient insurance and entering new patients in the computer.
  • Notifies patient by phone of their next day scheduled appointment.
  • Maintains confidentiality by keeping all patient and medical information seen and heard in the strictest confidence.
  • Responsible for updating patient information, verifying patient insurance and entering new patients in computer.
  • Is responsible for inserting all other documents in patients' charts in accordance with program requirements, policies and procedures established at the direction of the clinical staff. Including all patient record releases.
  • Reviews Release of Information requests for validity according to applicable state or federal statutes. Returns unsigned authorizations and or request to the requester.
  • Process record requests to assigned vendor.
  • Documents the release of information in the patient medical records.
  • May scan and queue all documents and import to designated areas.
  • Notifies patient by phone of their next day scheduled appointment.
  • Assumes responsibility for all daily provider schedules, including all patient notifications.
  • Assists other departments as directed.
  • Maintains confidentiality by keeping all patient and medical information seen and heard in the strictest confidence.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Qualifications

High School diploma
Previous office experience with computer knowledge helpful but not required
Knowledge of Medical Terminology preferred
Excellent communication/listening/customer service skills
Willing to work in a fast paced environment
Computer knowledge to use scheduling software and Microsoft Suite
Ability to travel between three sites locally.
