What You'll Be Doing

As a Commercial Relationship Manager at Bank Iowa, you will be a specialist in generating quality commercial loans as well as building full relationships with clients that include referrals for other Bank products and services at our West Des Moines location. A Commercial Lender plays a pivotal part in growing and maintaining the bank's portfolio and will make efforts to be a part of and improve the community in which they reside.
  • Manage a commercial loan portfolio by building and maintaining strong relationships with commercial clients, fostering business growth and client retention within the Central Iowa Region.
  • Oversee commercial lending activities including loan origination, underwriting, and portfolio management.
  • Manage a commercial loan portfolio with total outstanding balance of $5 to $15 million while managing 15-30 client relationships.
  • Meet with clients to obtain information for loan applications and to answer questions about the process. Commercial Relationship Manager's work with clients to identify their financial goals and to find ways of reaching those goals.
  • Develops relationships with various community and professional organizations to further enhance the bank's image and develop additional business or promote additional bank services.
  • Approves loans within specified limits and refers loan applications outside those limits to management for approval.
This is a full-time position and typical work hours and days are Monday through Friday 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

Requirements

Skills/Experience You'll Need
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or related field with relevant work experience. Relevant experience may be substituted for education.
  • Minimum of 1+ years Commercial lending and/or banking experience.
  • Ideal candidates will have banking experience, credit analysis or underwriting experience, and/or proven sales experience.
