We are currently seeking a
Project Engineer
for our Design Group in McDonough, GA. This position requires thorough knowledge of civil/structural design and engineering techniques for cold-formed steel projects. The successful candidate will have the requisite experience and qualifications for this position.
Responsibilities:
Responsible to plan and conduct independent work requiring judgment in the evaluation, selection, application and adaptation of engineering techniques, procedures and criteria for the use of light gauge steel products.
Ability to detail and engineer curtainwall, load bearing and roofing for cold-formed steel products.
Perform structural design and analysis calculations using governing codes and standards, engineering formulas, skills and experience.
Use computer-assisted engineering and design software and equipment to prepare engineering design documents.
Develop probable cost estimates for project.
Analyzes specifications and performance requirements to ensure that designs meet specifications.
Analyzes engineering
requirements, and related technical data pertaining to design.
Studies engineering and technical publications to keep abreast of technological changes and developments in industry.
Qualifications:
Bachelor Science degree in Civil/Structural Engineering
Preferred zero - two years of experience with
knowledge in civil and/or structural engineering, obtainable usually through a combination of experience and continuing education; or
Equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
Excellent communication skills
Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts and operations
Possess excellent overall computer skills in all MS Office products such as Outlook, Excel, Word, Access, Project and PowerPoint. Experience with Internet software.
Proficient in AutoCad.
Familiar with other engineering software programs desired.
