What we are looking for: Yazaki is looking for a

Principal Engineer (High Voltage)

to

join our Electronics and Instrumentation team in Canton, MI. The person in this role will be responsible for advising, assisting, or managing programs or specific projects having a broad span of technical expertise with added in-depth understanding of specific issues. Able to resolve issues independently or with an engineering team. Utilizes prior experience and in-depth product knowledge. Identifies new methods for designing Yazaki products. Capable of reviewing new components and deciding implementation. Advises Chief Engineers and other members of management on technical issues, processes or products.

What you will be doing: Review and correct existing technical information and instructions Write and critique position papers on technical requirements Create, review, implement and revise work instructions, processes and procedures Create, review, modify and interpret specifications and design guidelines Effective communicator, commands technical presentations Evaluate information provided by the customer for completeness and accuracy Interpret information provided by the customer as applied to the product/project Design product to specifications and requirements Verify, validate and document designs Review and interpret drawings Provide forecast for the delivery of the designs

What you will bring to the table: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical engineering Minimum of 15 years of relevant experience with a BA’s degree or 12 years of experience with a Master’s degree Understanding of electrical or mechanical properties and packaging or material characteristics Working experience using CATIA Understanding and ability to create DVP&Rs, DFMEAs, DOE’s and other quality related documents and processes Ability to resolve technical issues by applying creative thinking Ability to trace technical issues and problems to root cause Ability to provide resolution for most serious issues with Yazaki product Ability to manage multiple products and timing Write, review and modify official documents Innovator Works well independently and in the team
