SECURITY GUARD

Security Guard Help issue temporary badges to civilian visitors, contractors, vendors, and foreign nationals. Access databases for proper authorization of visit requests, identify individuals, and maintain required logs. Perform security patrols by foot or vehicle during assigned shifts. Monitor situations for public safety and health, and report violations to proper authorities. Be responsible for the security, upkeep, and operator maintenance of assigned government vehicles, issued uniform items, post material, and/or equipment. Must be a US Citizen. Must be determined suitable for federal employment. Must participate in the direct deposit pay program. New employees to the Department of the Navy will be required to successfully pass the E-Verify employment verification check. Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326. Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service. This is a bargaining unit position. You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver's license. This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time. This position is considered Key/Emergency-Essential. You will be required to provide immediate and continuing support to ensure the success of combat operations or the availability of combat-essential systems. This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision. May be required to obtain Occupational Health Certifications in Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH), or Certified Health Physicist (CHP), or similar certification. You will be required to obtain and maintain current First Responder, First Aid, AED, and CPR certifications in order to support medical emergencies. You will be required to wear a uniform. You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators, and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift. GS-06 Level: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Must be able to walk and stand for long periods of time. 2) Must be proficient with utilizing computer systems. 3) Must be able to multitask. GS-07 Level: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-06 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Knowledge of a complex set of local, state, and federal statutes, court decisions to perform independently the full range of guard activities; 2) Knowledge of specialized operating requirements, methods, and procedures in order to safeguard classified and sensitive materials, information, and/or processes, preventing unauthorized disclosure; 3) Enforcing specialized personnel access controls, protecting and preventing unauthorized access to restricted areas, detaining violators who attempt to resist, and other situations requiring special training and experience; and 4) Knowledge of capabilities and operational requirements and skill in operating equipment such as Telecommunications (hand held and mobile radio units, communications consoles, command switchboards, desktop telephones, paging systems, first alert emergency systems and/or networks); and computers (electronic mail and database access as required).
