POSITION SUMMARY:
The Veterans Coordinator recruits and supports clients of our Veteran's Program including referrals to other community resources. Job duties include evaluating individual client situations and assists with goal setting and achievement, as well as maintaining accurate client files and reports.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Reports to and accepts assignments from the Division Director
- Visibly displays and expresses a passion for people and commitment to helping those in need.
- Analyze and accurately interpret governing policies and procedures.
- Can display appropriate levels of empathy and compassion while meeting stringent performance standards.
- Collaborate with others inside and outside of the organization to assure effective solutions are implemented.
- Provide client services, which includes interviewing to determine eligibility and immediate or long-term needs.
- Provide case coordination services to veterans and their families; guiding clients through community resources, drug/alcohol counseling, pre-employment skill development, job training and rehabilitation services. Enable clients to communicate specific needs and problems through outreach.
- Oversee general operation of Veteran's assistance program, working closely with clients toward self-sufficiency.
- Document client progress or lack of progress.
- Communicate with other agencies as follows:
- Attend community meetings and workshops in person, which are relevant to the Veteran's Program.
- Work closely with other agencies to develop needed social services in the community.
- Contact appropriate agencies regarding exchange of information affecting the Veteran's Program.
- Offer recommendations for program improvement to appropriate agencies through the supervisor.
- Participates in meetings, conferences, training sessions, and workshops as assigned.
- Demonstrate familiarity with code of ethics, personnel policies and objectives of the Agency.
- Submit timely monthly reports to funders.
- Respect and maintain strict confidentiality of pertinent information concerning staff and clients.
- Maintain professional standards.
- Accepts other job-related duties as assigned.
- High School or GED
- Must be a Veteran with an honorable discharge.
- Must have an understanding of the socio-economic problems and needs of low-income families and individuals.
- Ability to pass a Washington State Criminal Background Check
- Valid Washington State Driver's License
- Current auto liability insurance
- Social Services,
- Proficient in MS Office programs including, MS Word and Excel.
Requires walking, reaching/stretching, intermittent sitting, twisting, bending, and the ability to occasionally lift 20 pounds. Requires accuracy, good communication, judgment, and the ability to remain calm and provide appropriate advice and information. Must be able to exhibit regular attendance.
