As a space systems engineer on our team, you will work with Booz Allen colleagues and the U.S. Space Force to develop and deploy the next generation of resilient Missile Warning (MW), Environmental Monitoring (EM), and Tactical Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (TISR) capabilities to deliver critical information to our warfighters to quickly win or even prevent future wars. Your client will trust you to develop Technical Requirements Documents (TRDs), Interface Control Documents (ICDs), technical assessments, verification plans, and digital mission and system models for satellite systems and payloads. You will grow your skills by researching new requirements, technologies, and threats and using innovative engineering methodologies and tools to create tomorrow’s solutions.

You Have:

6+ years of experience in large-scale space mission and systems engineering and integration on national security space programs

4+ years of experience with using Model-Based Systems Engineering tools, such as Sparx EA, MagicDraw/Cameo, IBM Rhapsody, or DOORS NG

1+ years of experience working with analytical tools such as MATLAB, STK, or ModelCenter

Experience with leading a team for development of technical specifications, interface control documents, and integration and test plans and schedules for satellite systems

Ability to comprehend complex technical problems where capabilities are affected by technical achievability, affordability, and schedule

Ability to perform multiple systems engineering and program management functions in support of design reviews and requirements verification and identify, analyze, resolve technical risks and issues, develop technical reports, and collaborate with government and other stakeholders to implement recommended solutions

Secret clearance

Bachelor’s degree in an engineering, mathematics, physics, or computer science field

Nice If You Have:

Experience with performing systems engineering, integration, and test on space-based remote sensing systems, including SBIRS, Next Generation OPIR, FORGE, STSS, HBTSS, DMSP, WSF-M, and EWS

Experience with OPIR payloads, space-based weather payloads, satellite busses, and satellite subsystems including propulsion, thermal control, power, attitude control, TT&C, communications, data processing, and structures

Knowledge of DoD 5000.01/02

Knowledge of systems engineering standards, including IEEE 15288.1 and IEEE 15288.2

Knowledge of Agile Methodologies

Master’s degree in an engineering, mathematics, physics, or computer science field

INCOSE Systems Engineering Professional certifications, including ASEP, CSEP, or ESEP

Clearance: Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; Secret clearance is required.

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $96,600.00 to $220,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
