Job Summary:

The role of an Employee Relations and Benefits Coordinator is multifaceted and crucial in ensuring that employees are well-supported and informed about their benefits and rights. They play a pivotal role in facilitating the enrollment process for various benefits programs, including health insurance and retirement savings, by providing guidance and assistance to employees. In addition to benefits administration, Employee Relations and Benefits Coordinators also play a role in managing employee relations tasks such as counseling and ensuring compliance with employment laws. This could involve mediating conflicts, providing support during times of transition, and ensuring that the organization adheres to relevant regulations and policies. Overall, this role requires a combination of strong communication skills, attention to detail, and a solid understanding of both benefits administration and employment law. By effectively fulfilling these responsibilities, Employee Relations and Benefits Coordinators contribute to fostering a positive and supportive work environment for all employees.

Essential Duties/Tasks:
  • Administer benefits open enrollment forms and communicate program information to employees, to include Health, Dental, Life and other Insurance, 401k, etc.
  • Enter new hire packet information into Trident HRIS
  • Coordinate employee information updates when needed (pay, exits, level changes, etc.)
  • Compliance (Employee jackets/files are up to date and complete)
  • Create fillable forms as required (Jotform or Docusign, etc.)
  • Employee verification for housing/new jobs/benefits/court/unemployment etc.
  • Handle employee complaints and concerns.
  • Monitor and administer Trident appraisals (90 days, 6 months, and 1-year reviews)
  • Communicate and support Trident Regional Office managers and employees regarding benefits and employee relations items
  • Participate in disciplinary meetings when needed.
  • Participate in interviews and help make decisions on the hiring process.
  • Create job descriptions for new positions in the Trident Corporate or Regional offices.
  • Research and monitor HR laws for compliance and pay within the different states.
Education and Experience:
  • 2 years of experience in employee relations and benefits or related field.
  • Generate HRIS reports and manage personnel files, management information, and candidate data utilizing standardize reporting systems.
  • Advise on legal compliance (e.g., ADA, FMLA, harassment) and contract and policy interpretation.
  • Administer to ADA, FLSA, FMLA/ PDL/ CFRA, and retirement.
  • Gather and analyze EEO information for EEO-1 reporting.
  • Interpret the FLSA to ensure the compliance with wage and hour laws.
  • Implement various CRM strategies and communications resulting in increased giving and retention of high-level donors.
  • Conduct investigations into allegations of ethics concerns, conduct issues, discrimination, harassment, and retaliation.
  • Deliver action items based on findings as they pertain to relevant policy, ethics, or law.
  • Develop and administer ER SharePoint site to ensure update and consist information are provided to all sites.
  • Ensure the implementation of proper corporate compliance initiatives including OFCCP, EEO, ADA, FMLA, and other relate disciplines.
  • Experience with internal investigations and extended disciplinary/corrective action recommendations.
Knowledge/ Skills/Abilities:
  • Have considerable knowledge of principles and practices of personal administration and human resources programs, laws, regulations, and policies
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Practical knowledge of line supervisor actions with respect to labor related matters including discipline, transfers, promotions/demotions and conflict resolution
  • Strong attention to detail to ensure all information provided is accurate and up-to-date
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Proficient in MS Word, Outlook, PowerPoint
  • Advanced working knowledge of QuickBooks preferred
Working Environments/Physical Requirements
  • Long hours on a computer/laptop and using a computer keyboard.
  • Regularly required to sit, stand and walk; talk or hear, both in person and by telephone.
  • Regularly required to stoop, kneel, bend, crouch and lift up to 25 pounds.
Reporting Structure
  • The Employee Relations and Benefits Coordinator is a full-time salaried exempt role that will report directly to the HR Manager.
