Marketing Product Manager

Product Management: Perform administrative duties related to new product setup, formula or marketing updates, customer specials, regulatory updates, literature and label updates. Activities to include detailed record keeping and communication with all stakeholders, internally and externally.
Customer Support: Provide assistance to dealers, distributors, end users, and specifiers in product recommendations, discovery, troubleshooting. Activities to include phone and written support.
Technical Writing: Assist in writing copy and directions for product labels, product data sheets, and application brochures, sell sheets, and specifications. Work with lab personnel to gain understanding for product performance, application, uses, and best practices.
Complaints: Facilitate complaint handling, including complaint documentation, discovery, and communication with the lab, production, warehouse, and sales. Visit complaint sites as needed.
Lab Project Requests: Assist in lab project writing and communications between sales and the laboratory. Research product information, application, and customer requirements. Assist in delivery of lab samples to customers or sales personnel.
Color Development Support: Support sales and marketing in color development projects, including matching competitor colors, tint formula improvement, and updates to color computers and electronic formula book software.
Product Testing: Work with lab in product application and evaluation with existing and developmental formulas. Application to includes lab and field work with various application methods.
Specification Writing: Assist in specification writing for product systems and projects as needed. Specification writing to include general conditions, surface preparation, and surface-specific product recommendations.

Physical Requirements:
This is a somewhat sedentary role; however, some projects may require lifting up to 50 pounds at a time. Some filing is required, which would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand as necessary.
While performing this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to sit, stand; walk; squat; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands.
Work Environment:
This job operates in a professional office environment.
Computer Skills:
This job requires mid-level knowledge, including, but not limited to, Microsoft Office Suite, PowerPoint, Access. Must have the ability to easily learn proprietary software as needed. Ability to make light, routine website updates preferable.
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work:
This is a full-time exempt position, and hours of work and days are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Qualifications
Education & Experience: Four + years of relevant work experience.
Work Experience
Minimum of 5 years of experience in paint retail, distribution, and/or manufacturing.
Demonstrated knowledge in coating types, typical uses, best painting practices, investigative and troubleshooting skills.
Broad experience in color theory and design, paint formulation concepts, selling fundamentals, and retail merchandising within the industry or a directly related industry.
Travel:
Some travel may be required, however, infrequently.
