The Arc of Rensselaer County is looking for an Associate Executive Director of Human Resources who will be responsible for the strategic and collaborative leadership of our well established HR department.

This position reports directly to the CEO and is a member of the senior leadership team. This person will be responsible for the strategic development and administration of the human resources department including: employee recruitment and retention, compensation, benefits, employee relations, policy development and implementation, payroll, staff training and development, DEI initiatives, and safety. This person will ensure that Human Resources is a center of excellence in all matters related to employee engagement. This includes employee recognition, development, leadership, and performance management. The Associate Executive Director of HR will oversee the implementation of progressive and legally compliant human resource policies. They will collaborate with the Senior Leadership team on strategic plan initiatives as it relates to the overall Agency initiatives and specifically, the Human Resources function. We are looking for an experienced HR professional to develop and implement human resource policies and procedures that provide a high level of service to the Agency while ensuring compliance with applicable federal and New York State laws and regulations. We are looking for someone who is versatile in strategic management. This person will use data to support and reporting to inform decision-making as it relates to workforce planning, compensation, benefits, training, and safety goals. The AED determines and recommends employee relation practices necessary to establish a positive work relationship and promote a high level of employee morale and performance. Education and Experience This position requires a Masters degree in business/administrative related area with 3-5 years of Human Resource management experience or Bachelors with 5-7 years of HR Experience. PHR/SHRM-CP certification preferred Responsibilities ·

Oversees and manages a team of 6-8 employees ·

Serves as a member of the Arc Executive team ·

Communicates effectively through written and verbal communication across all levels of the agency ·

Most be proficient in Microsoft suite or related areas of technology ·

Must be knowledgeable in employment related laws and regulations ·

Attends HR or other related conferences to increase knowledge and professional development ·

Attends board meetings with executive group to report out agency metrics EOC
