Description

Team Libertad Intake Specialist

Under the supervision of the Team Libertad Program Coordinator, the Intake Specialist will strive to offer a welcoming presence and helpful hand to Asylum Seekers released from Stewart Detention Center who are traveling through the Atlanta airport. The Team Libertad Intake Specialist is responsible for supporting Team Libertad staff and volunteers with setup & logistics onsite at the airport when receiving travelers and for collecting required documentation from travelers for grant reporting purposes.

Position Details:
  • Part-time position
  • Refugee & Immigrant Services Department
  • Hourly Non-Exempt (Up to 25 hours per week)
  • Reports to Team Libertad Program Coordinator
  • Located in Hartsfield Jackson Atlanta International Airport
  • On-site required, some remote, Travel (0 25%) Statewide
  • Monday through Friday & Occasional weekends (based on availability); days and times may vary from week to week
  • Hourly rate $18 - $19.30/hour
Responsibilities:
  • Provide hospitality & gather required information from all travelers being serviced during the day.
  • Assist the Lead Coordinators and Team Libertad staff with everyday logistics and inventory management.
  • Provide Program coordinator & Grant Specialist needed information including but not limited to scheduling, financial tracking, data management, program communication.
  • Provide assistance in urgent, unforeseen situations related to the safety and transport of persons seeking asylum.
  • Attend meetings, training, workshops and conferences as appropriate to enhance job knowledge and skills.
  • Forges mutually respectful partnerships with clients, co-workers, and volunteers.
  • Participates in Inspiritus & Team Libertad functions and public relations activities
  • Conforms with and abides by all regulations, policies, work procedures and instructions.
Qualifications

Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or GED and minimum of two years of previous direct work experience in advocacy, immigrant services, or social services, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience working in culturally diverse environment and high level of cultural humility.
  • Excellent computer skills, accurate typing, and knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Conviction about the capacity of people to grow and change.
  • Must have the ability to communicate with all persons in a culturally appropriate manner.
  • Must own a personal multi-passenger vehicle, hold a valid state-issued Driver's License.
  • Ability to set limits and maintain the helping role of the practitioner.
  • Proficiency in Spanish strongly desired

Physical Demands:
