The Department of Radiation Oncology at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital anticipates hiring a Dosimetrist or Senior Dosimetrist to support our clinical and research activities. The ideal candidate will possess outstanding interpersonal and organizational skills and demonstrate strong attention to detail. Key Responsibilities Perform photon and proton treatment planning as directed. Support treatment planning activities, including CT and MR simulation, image registration, dose accumulation, and adaptive planning. Present treatment planning information at clinical conferences. Organize and summarize treatment planning data for medical records, research and education. Collaborate with members of the department to develop guidelines for clinical trials. Contribute to workflow improvement, implementation of new technology and patient safety initiatives. Department of Radiation Oncology The Department of Radiation Oncology is a full-service department dedicated to clinical research and treatment. With the mission of providing expert and compassionate clinical care, the department has the largest team in the U.S. devoted to pediatric radiation oncology. Technology The department houses the world's first proton therapy center dedicated solely to the treatment of children. The proton center is equipped with two gantry rooms and a fixed beam room. Each room has dedicated pencil beam scanning nozzles, robotic patient positioning, and cone-beam CT. The department has two linear accelerators used for photon therapy and multiple imaging platforms for treatment planning and on-treatment evaluation. Imaging platforms include a dual-layer spectral CT, digital PET-CT, and state of the art 1.5T and 3.0T MR systems. The department supports multiple treatment planning and image-processing systems. Staffing The clinical physics section is comprised of 6 physicists, 4 dosimetrists, 2 medical physics assistants, and an accelerator engineer. The team is responsible for planning radiation therapy for 300 pediatric patients each year. About Memphis This position is based in Memphis, TN; relocation assistance is available. Master's Degree in Medical Dosimetry, Health Sciences or related field preferred. Minimum Experience Dosimetrist Experience in radiation oncology treatment and/or treatment planning obtained through required coursework or post graduate work is required. Experience as a medical dosimetrist or radiation/medical physicist preferred. Senior Dosimetrist Five (5) years full-time experience as a medical dosimetrist in radiation oncology treatment and/or treatment planning is required. Required Credentials Dosimetrist/Senior Dosimetrist Required: (LC: CMD-CERT) Medical Dosimetry Board Certification (CMD) required within two (2) years of hire date.
