Position Responsibilities Your tasks will include: Performing light and heavy cleaning duties in various areas throughout the Laboratory.Supporting Laboratory events by providing porter services and assisting in moving furniture and equipment.Cleaning office and laboratory spaces, conference rooms, restrooms, and other work areas.Supplying and maintaining cleanliness in restrooms and kitchenettes.Performing floor cleaning, carpet maintenance, and upholstery cleaning.Dusting and polishing furniture, window blinds, and other surfaces.Handling regulated medical waste collection and disposal procedures.Following safety procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power equipment.Keeping storage areas well-stocked, clean, and organized.Notifying the supervisor of any repair needs. Position RequirementsEducation: High School Diploma or equivalentExperience: 1-year experience in a custodial positionSkills:Ability to lift and carry 40lbsAbility to work on ladders and step stoolsA valid driver's license is required.Basic cleaning techniques.Attention to detail.Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory offers a free shuttle service to and from Syosset Train Station for all employees.
