GENERAL PURPOSE OF JOB:

Handle domestic shipment activity and support other transportation functions.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Adhere to plant and corporate safety policies. Follow processes, work instructions, MSPs, and other written and/or verbal instructions. Operate a powered forklift Assure that shipments match packing documents and assist in resolving any discrepancies. Assist with the packaging and paperwork of outbound goods. Review "to be shipped" reports to prepare and process shipment of customer orders. Maintain inventory of shipping and packing materials and supplies. Prepare paperwork and arrange for shipment of domestic packages. Prepare paperwork, arrange and execute shipments of goods domestically.

ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Maintain a neat and orderly work area. Assist all departments with their shipping/logistics issues. Assist with crating, skidding, etc. of equipment for shipment with a thorough understanding of packing security needs Responsible for the proper packaging and paperwork preparation for Hazardous Material Shipments. Prepare air bills and arrange for shipment of overnight packages. Ensure everything that leaves the facility is packed tightly & safely. Prepare paperwork, arranges and execute shipments of small packages internationally. May assist in other areas or perform other duties as required by fluctuating business needs.

EDUCATION, CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) with three years related experience or an associate's degree and one year related experience.

BASIC SKILLS:

Proficient with Syteline Ability to speak, read and write English. Ability to follow verbal and written instructions. Ability to perform basic math functions. Possesses basic computer skills Ability to resolve basic and moderate problems. Ability to clearly communicate with peers and supervisors. Ability to operate a powered forklift Ability to complete standard forms and spreadsheets compliant to quality procedures. Well-organized and detail oriented. Possesses well developed communication, organizational and interpersonal skills. Ability to interact professionally with logistical suppliers. Possesses good computer experience, specifically in the area of logistical tracking.
