The Production Assistants are based in the theatre and the workshop, assisting with stock management, building, equipment maintenance and production logistics.Due to the need of interaction with students, employees, and the college community this position requires in person presence.The Production Assistant reports to the Director.Candidates must generally be available for shifts from 10am-6 pm. This position may include nights and weekends. This position is for 25 hours a week.Responsibilities:Constructs scenery including the understanding of basic carpentry and shop toolsAbility to lift and move 30 pounds (unassisted), and 50 pounds (assisted)Works with basic hand tools, power tools, and adhesivesAssists in organization of Workshop, Green Room, Costume Shop, and Storage FacilityWorks with Scenic Manager, Audio & Lighting Tech, and The Stage & Rigging Foreperson to learn other aspects of theatre including but not limited to: fly rail, lighting, sound, projections, props, costuming, etc.Works as crew on Milburn Stone Theatre productions and community partner productions as assignedAssists in inventory of suppliesMaintains a safe, healthy, and clean work environmentPerforms other duties as assignedRequirements:Education: High School Diploma or EquivalentProficiencies / Experience:Hand and Power ToolsPainting Physical Demands: Must be able to lift and move up to a maximum of 50 pounds assisted and 30 pounds unassisted.
