You will perform material take-offs, utilize estimating software to project labor costs for self-performed fabrication and installation processes, and assist in the selection and pre-qualification of subcontractors. Working knowledge of process estimating software preferred and must able to interpret mechanical drawings, specifications, and codes.

  • Perform all quantity take offs and enter the data into estimates
  • Perform research to find Subcontractors and / or Vendors for a given location to solicit bids from, in addition to the MER
  • Follow up with internal Stellar teams for submission of their bids to be included in the estimate
  • Solicit subcontractors and vendors for pricing on each effort. Receive, tabulate, and vet each bid for review with the PCM. Upon approval from the PCM, enter validated costs into the estimate
  • Solicit the market and the Operations teams for current unit costs and add to the cost history database
  • Seek out new subcontractors regionally to be used by the Pre-Construction Group, Development, and Operations. This begins with solicitation and ends with TradeTapp submission
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in a construction-related field
  • 2+ years of experience estimating for federal/commercial construction projects
