Estimating Specialist

Our client has specialty in electrical manufacturing. They are looking for an experienced professional to fill the role of Estimating Specialist. The primary focus of this position is to enhance customer service by providing estimates and quotes to ensure inside support of the company.

The Estimating Specialist is responsible for promptly and accurately responding to quote requests and working collaboratively with various partners and team members. This role involves preparing quotes, offering technical support, and managing information in the CRM system. Building and maintaining strong relationships with the Outside Sales Team is crucial to driving revenue growth with both new and existing accounts.

Focus:

  • Strategically work with the existing customer base within the lighting industry and hunt for new accounts.
  • Respond to quote requests promptly to exceed customer expectations.
  • Prepare accurate quotes in response to customer requests.
  • Follow up with the Outside Sales Team to enhance order conversion rates.
  • Communicate regularly with customers to build relationships and improve quote accuracy.
  • Cultivate strong business relationships within the target market, identifying sales and product development opportunities.
  • Establish, develop, and maintain positive brand image and awareness.
  • Provide tailored product knowledge of the entire product line to provide the best purchasing options for customers, acting as the SME for all inquiries.
  • Stay current and research competitor products, the technology landscape, regional trends, compliance laws, and other relevant market data.

Skill Set:

  • Preferred: Bachelor’s degree or 3 years of related experience.
  • Strong numerical proficiency with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Experience in estimating, with a preference for the lighting industry.
  • Familiarity with BlueBeam and/or CAD is helpful.
  • Strong communication skills, with confidence and competence in interactions.
  • Knowledge of Salesforce (or similar CRM software) and Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to prioritize, manage multiple tasks, and achieve successful results.
  • Ability to follow processes and operational workflows.
  • Capable of working independently with minimal guidance.
  • Able to work at a desk and use a computer for prolonged periods.
  • Ability to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
