Job Description - Associate Communications Manager (2401451)Job DescriptionAssociate Communications Manager - 2401451DescriptionJob SummaryWith limited input and using specialized knowledge and skills obtained through education and experience, provides strategy direction, message development, and communication planning and implementation to increase the understanding of corporate vision, business strategies and individual projects among the companys audiences (internal and/or external). Develops and helps to implement the strategy for new and existing communication channels to increase awareness and support corporate objectives and provides regular reporting for channel and message readership/impact. Establishes and maintains effective working relationships at all levels of the organization.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesProvides strategic direction, message development, and communication planning for corporate level, cross-department, and departmental initiativesGives tactical support and oversees communication plansMay oversee the daily management of a channel or channelsConsults with internal and external constituents to identify communications goals and objectives; executes solutions for high-impact projects/initiativesBacks up management of other communication channels as neededParticipates in prioritization of firm communicationsEdits work of othersMonitors channel absorption; prepares reports for managementFrom metrics and other data, recommends channel content alterations and improvementsManages implementation of channel communication projectsPerforms other duties and responsibilities as assignedEstablishes and maintains relationships with all levels of management, particularly within areas of supportEffectively represent firm values and communication principles within meetingsQualificationsKnowledge ofGeneral communication strategies and tacticsConcepts, principles, practices and techniques for writing and developing communications plans and related contentInvestment concepts, practices and procedures used in the securities industryFinancial markets and productsPublishing systemsSkill inCreating communications plans that blend attention to detail with flexibility and effective messagingWriting intranet page copy, articles and other collateral as requiredProofreading copy written by othersConducting research and analysisOperating standard office equipment and using required software applications, including standard graphics and publishing softwareAbility toThink logically and analyze and solve problemsPartner with other functional areas to accomplish objectivesMake independent decisions when appropriateInfluence decision making and action when appropriateManage confidential firm information prior to internal or public releaseFacilitate meetings, ensuring that all viewpoints, ideas and problems are addressedIncorporate needs, wants and goals from different business unit perspectives into communications plans, while being an advocate for audiences and communications best practicesAttention to detail while maintaining a big picture orientationGather information, identify linkages and trends, and apply findings to assignmentsOrganize, manage and track multiple detailed tasks and assignments with frequently changing priorities in a fast-paced work environmentCommunicate effectively, both orally and in writingWork independently as well as collaboratively within a team environmentProvide a high level of customer serviceEstablish and maintain effective working relationships at all levels of the organizationEducational/Previous Experience RequirementsBachelors Degree and two (2) years experience in marketing, communications or similar fieldAny equivalent combination of experience, education, and/or training approved by Human Resources.Licenses/CertificationsTravel RequiredYes, 10 % of the TimeRaymond James Guiding Behaviors At Raymond James our associates use five guiding behaviors (Develop, Collaborate, Decide, Deliver, Improve) to deliver on the firm's core values of client-first, integrity, independence and a conservative, long-term view.
