The role informs about developments in policy, makes risks and opportunities visible, and defines, manages, and executes comprehensive stakeholder strategies and their corresponding activities and messaging. One focus here is building relationships with key political, societal and industry stakeholders to ensure Daiichi Sankyo’s priorities are reflected in the healthcare discussion. KEY RESPONSIBLITIES:

Leads the execution of the global and regional Governmental Affairs strategies in Canada Drives the development of Daiichi Sankyo public policy positions and proposals to federal and provincial government policymakers, as well as other influential non-governmental stakeholders Creates and executes on stakeholder management programs of federal and provincial government decision-makers and stakeholders Leads by example and builds trustful relationships with stakeholders and institutions Contributes to relevant industry, life science and healthcare associations Works with Daiichi Sankyo Canada’s leadership team and businesses by preparing regular updates/presentations required to educate on upcoming legislation/regulations changes Deploying communication tools required to help the leadership team effectively adjust to these changes Plans and prepares Daiichi Sankyo representatives’ participation in key events, speeches, including round tables, negotiations, and industry conferences Works closely with Market Access, Communications, Medical, and Commercial on interdisciplinary approaches to achieve local business objectives Collaborates at all levels of the organization and drives project implementation and message consistency Fosters an open and creative information and engagement culture through a coherent approach across the organization Creates and works towards regionally and locally aligned Governmental Affairs performance metrics Manages external agencies and monitors their performance Maintains all applicable lobbyist registrations EDUCATION AND PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

University degree (e.g. Master’s degree in Political Science, Business Administration, Public Affairs, Law, Journalism, Economics, or similar) At least 8 years of work experience in Governmental Affairs or institutional PR positions in the healthcare sector, preferable in an advanced position Experience in working with a diverse set of stakeholders to impact political and policy engagement programs and campaigns In-depth experience in developing collaborations for roundtables and other events Deep understanding of the political environment, market access and pricing landscape Extensive external personal network PERSONAL AND TECHNICAL SKILLS
