**Description**

**The incumbent will manage activities, both internal and external, associated with new and existing product(s) and/or tasks that are related to areas such as, but not limited to, manufacturing, new project development, and new product introduction. This role will emphasize cost effectiveness with No Markups while maintaining quality and on time delivery. Researches products and solicits bids from vendors, and analyzes items based on availability, price, and quality. This role will effectively manage the inventory levels of raw components as well as tracking status of key production lines.**

**General:**

* Establish and maintain supplier and customer relationships both externally and internally to ensure company requirements are maintained.

* Coordinate with manufacturing, purchasing, quality, engineering, sales, and other support teams to alleviate constraints to on-time delivery.

* Maintains accurate record retention, per company policy, and work within the company's established policies and procedures

* Ensure compliance with all federal, state, local, and company regulations, policies, and procedures.

* Supports other projects and objectives as required.

**Customer Service:**

* Act as primary customer contact and liaison as related to customer forecasts, orders, acknowledgements, delivery schedules and other activities related to customer order fulfilment.

* Enter and process sales orders as orders are received; review with operations team; provide order acknowledgments to confirm order details, such as, pricing, delivery, product, and rev.

* Update internal systems with any order changes received from customers and effectively communicate changes to manufacturing, sales, engineering, quality, and other supporting departments.

* Track status and report on delays or other issues in meeting customer purchase orders to ensure time schedules are met. Communicate all changes, recommendations, or concerns with the client.

* Attend meetings such as, but limited to, production meetings, open order meetings, customer meetings, team meetings, and S&OP meetings to ensure on-time delivery of orders. Alert operations of major delivery problems or concerns.

* Ensure that if a quote or a change affects a current order, the customer is notified, and a revised PO is received before order is shipped.

* Provide assistance to ensure compliance with negotiated contracts, if required.

* Process debit memos in support of the MRB process.

**Buyer/Planner:**

* Conducts analysis on Material Requirements Planning (MRP) and Master Production Schedule (MPS).

* Place and administer purchase requisitions and purchase orders for procurement of components, assemblies, equipment, and services to support schedules and business needs inclusive of purchase orders based on demand generated from MRP .

* Track status and report on delays or other issues with supplier purchase orders issued to ensure time schedules are met. Escalate potential misses to site leadership as appropriate.

* Provide assistance in quoting and requoting of products, as needed.

* Maintain all records such as, but not limited to, purchase orders, quotes, pricing matrixes, price changes, project proposals, and change orders.

* Negotiates the lowest possible cost for the components balanced against the optimum quality and schedule needs as well as negotiating pricing for components.

* Assist in Inventory management by utilizing Lean principles (JIT, Pull systems), vendor managed opportunities, minimum order analysis and make/buy conversions.

* Manage, monitor, and analyze metrics and data such as, but not limited to, safety stock, what-if analysis, etc.

* Support new product development schedules and projects with the engineering team with material planning and purchasing requirements, if required.

* Maintains item master and other company records in ERP system.
