This position is for a project manager that will manage four (4) start up data centers in the Dallas, TX area. There are two (2) current projects with a 35 – 78L gens starting delivery on October 2023 and commissioning is ongoing through February 2025. The next two projects will have 51 – 78L gens delivering starting July 2024 and commissioning through March 2026. There are 56 generators that Cummins will deliver, start up and turnover to our customer in less than 2 years. The Project manager will manage the project schedule, lead commissioning, participate in all on site meetings, drive issue resolution, communicate resource constraints, complete commissioning documentation, and serve as the on-site safety lead.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Management:
Develop and manage project schedules, ensuring adherence to timelines and budget constraints. Lead and coordinate all aspects of commissioning activities for the data center projects.
Commissioning Leadership:
Oversee the startup and commissioning of 56 generators, ensuring optimal functionality. Drive issue resolution, identifying and addressing challenges during the commissioning phase. Participate actively in on-site meetings, providing technical expertise and project updates.
Resource Coordination:
Communicate resource constraints to relevant stakeholders and propose solutions. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth project execution.
Documentation:
Complete comprehensive commissioning documentation, ensuring accuracy and compliance. Maintain organized records of project-related documentation for future reference.
Safety Leadership : Serve as the on-site safety lead, implementing and enforcing safety protocols. Conduct regular safety audits and collaborate with the safety team to address any concerns.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Project Management, or a related field.
Proven experience as a Project Manager in commissioning or startup projects, preferably in data centers or similar environments.
Strong understanding of generator systems, with experience managing the commissioning of large-scale gensets would be valuable.
Excellent project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple projects concurrently.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills for collaboration with on-site teams and stakeholders.
Knowledge of safety regulations and experience implementing safety protocols on construction or commissioning sites.
