Job Summary

The Police Receptionist will serve as the receptionist for Campus Police, handling inquiries and providing information. The Police Receptionist will process ID cards and parking permit services for the campus community and assist with various administrative tasks. The Police Receptionist will also serve as the primary switchboard operator, serving as a liaison to provide information to callers of SWBTS and transferring callers to the appropriate destination.

Essential Job Functions / Responsibilities
  • Maintain a general knowledge of the seminary to provide accurate information regarding the campus and activities.
  • Maintain the ability to multitask and recall information quickly and accurately.
  • Serve as a receptionist for Campus Police.
  • Make IDs for all new students, spouses, and employees.
  • Assist the PAB Manager with key control and data management.
  • Issue permanent and temporary parking permits and maintain databases.
  • Assist with various administrative tasks/ projects as needed.
  • Operate the seminary's switchboard, directing all incoming calls. Will route all calls to the appropriate person, office, or department.
  • Forward routine campus information, directory information, and guest services calls to appropriate personnel.
  • Complete understanding of all emergency procedures within the Campus Police office.
  • Primarily responsible for cataloging and dispensing lost and found items.
  • General understanding and ability to utilize Campus Police software.
Skills / Requirements
  • Able to quickly learn software used by Campus Police (RAVE, Rydin, Omnigo, Key Secure, DNA Fusion, and TouchNet).
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Word, and Microsoft Excel.
  • Ability to multi-task administrative work and receiving visitors.

Qualifications / Education
  • High school degree or equivalent, plus a minimum of 1 year of related work experience is required.
  • Strong knowledge of systems and personal computer workstations preferred.
  • Good interpersonal skills in order to communicate effectively with customers and management staff.

Physical Requirements
  • Physically able to sit for long periods of time.
  • Able to use a computer and move about the office to interact with other staff members.
  • Able to attend meetings on-site.
  • Able to bend and/or stoop.
  • Able to climb and lift up to 25 pounds to perform tasks that may be assigned in the course of operations.
  • Must be able to perform occasional overhead reaching, bending, stooping, twisting, and kneeling.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear.
  • Frequently required to sit and reach with hands and arms.
  • Occasionally required to stand, kneel, crouch, climb and balance, walk, and use hands to handle or feel.
