DESCRIPTION OF WORK

This is an entry-level fiscal position in Children and Youth Services. An employee in this class has the opportunity to analyze financial transactions, prepare documented financial statements and reports, and control and account for funds. Analyzing and projecting financial data will be included in your duties.
Other duties to include but not limited to:

  • Assisting in preparing the state budget for Children and Youth and Juvenile Probation expenditures and revenues.
  • Assisting in preparing the county budget and all related financial and revenue reports required by the County Commissioner's and County Controller.
  • Posting all placement invoices from service providers for Children and Youth and Juvenile Probation to QuickBooks/CAPS.
  • Preparing and submitting Federal IV-E invoices.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
  • Full-time employment.
  • Work hours are 8:00 am to 4:00 pm, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch.
  • Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • One year as a Fiscal Technician and 15 college credits in accounting; or
  • Five years of bookkeeping experience; and 15 college credits in accounting; or
  • One year of professional accounting experience and graduation from a four-year college or university, including or supplemented by 15 credits in accounting.

  • Hiring preference for this vacancy may be given to candidates who live within Cambria County. If no eligible candidates who live within Cambria County apply for this position, candidates who reside in other counties may be considered.
  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Legal Requirements:

  • A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination and a drug screening.
  • This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law.
    • Under the Law, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports including, but not limited to, PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance.
