Job Purpose:

The Director Contract Management performs all functions related to the contracting process for assigned business partners, which may include Pharmaceutical, Medical Products and Services, or Business Products and Services business partners. The Director Contract Management is responsible for preparing, coordinating, and managing contract negotiations as well as the ongoing relationships with assigned Business Partners, including, but not limited to, new agreements, renewal agreements, amendments, and product/price change notifications.

The Director Contract Management negotiates the terms and conditions in contracts and ensuring compliance with the terms and conditions, as well as documenting and agreeing on any changes or amendments that may arise during its implementation or execution.

The right candidate must have strong written and oral communication skills, as well as strong organizational skills and follow-through.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for streamlining the creation, negotiation, execution, compliance, storage, and renewals across MHA's Finance & Trade department.
  • Create pre-contracting alignment between Finance and Trade Leadership on the financial, pricing, and strategic objectives of each new or renewal contract.
  • Develop a mechanism to track the intended outcomes vs actual outcomes of contract negotiations, which can act as a source of insights to improve contract negotiations going forward.
  • Ensures that contracts are fulfilled, tracking the progress of contracts, and resolving dispute.
  • Serve as the point of contact along with the Finance and Trade Leadership for assigned Business Partners on contractual matters.
  • Manage projects as assigned.
  • Perform peer review function on contract amendments.
  • Conduct and facilitate training of Contract Managers.
  • Lead or support various business review discussions.
  • On all standard and nonstandard contracts, provide redlined recommendations based on MHA policies; coordinate contract negotiations between MHA Legal and Business Partner to ensure timely review, reconciliation of contract drafts and final approval of contract terms and conditions.
  • Coordinate or build contract templates.
  • Collaborate with necessary internal stakeholders on contract terms and conditions.
  • Develop and manage contract routing process with Legal department.
  • Proactively coordinate with Sales, Finance, Operations and all necessary MHA Teams terms and conditions.
  • Ensure that contracts are fully executed and communicated to all relevant parties to provide contract visibility, awareness, and seamless implementation.
  • Manage on-going contract maintenance such as product additions and price changes, as well as contract renewals and extensions.
  • Address Sales and Operations contract related issues in a timely fashion.
Minimum Qualifications & Competencies:
  • BA/BS in degree; MBA a plus.
  • 5-7 years managerial experience, with experience in contract management, customer service, operations, or analytics in the healthcare or pharmaceutical industries.
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Strong contracting strategy and administration experience in the healthcare or pharmaceutical industries.
  • Requires excellent planning, organizational, analytical, follow-through, and self-management skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Sound working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and client-server-based applications and databases.
