Job Duties & Responsibilities

Resolve a wide range of accounting issues in innovative ways. Perform periodic testing of key internal controls, and alerts management to any control deficiencies in a timely manner. Support both internal and external audits by providing necessary support. Conduct special studies and develops or recommends accounting methods or procedures. Analyze financial reports and records, making both accounting and operational improvement recommendations. Review and verify the accuracy of journal entries and accounting classifications. Provide business partners and management with variance analysis including providing insight to identify causes and resolution of variances. Provide functional advice or informal training to less-experienced associates. Manage workload effectively and efficiently by prioritizing responsibilities. Review, research, and recommend improvements to analysis, reporting, and systems. Respond to financial inquiries of operational management providing requested information for management of the business. Coordinate accounting matters with other departments and locations.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance. Broad knowledge of fundamental accounting principles, practices and procedures. Ability to resolve routine issues exercising judgment within defined accounting procedures and practices to determine appropriate action. Strong PC literacy skills in a Windows environment with Microsoft Office products (Excel, Access and Word). Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills. Strong analytical and problem solving skills with attention to detail. Continuous improvement mindset. Ability to resolve routine issues exercising judgment within defined accounting procedures and practices to determine appropriate action. Identify changing requirements and problems regarding management needs or other procedures; recognize and respond to. Ability to identify substantive issues and thoroughly and accurately research and analyze them. Ability to convey and/or consult on issues of a moderately complex nature in a clear, concise, and organized manner.

Preferred Qualifications

Three (3) or more years of broad accounting experience. Certified Public Accountant (CPA) licensure. Public accounting experience (Big Four a plus). Experience working with or within a public company with SEC reporting and SOX control requirements.
