GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES Performs intermediate semiskilled work coordinating day-to-day operations of designated Senior Center, andrelated work as apparent or assigned.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: • Establishes a friendly, pleasant, and supportive environment by meeting and greeting seniors; keeping theminformed of services and programs, menus, events, and other matters of interest.• Plans, schedules, implements, and directs a variety of social, recreational, and educational activities andprograms geared to meet varied and unique needs and interests of seniors.• Performs general office duties.• Maintains client records for home delivered meals program.• Responsible for serving congregate meals and taking reservations. Prepares tables, seating, and serving line.Ensures proper portion control and sanitary conditions.• Recruits and trains volunteers for the home delivered meal program and to assist in congregate meal duties.• Ensures that after the completion of the meal, all food and trash are removed, and all fixtures, cooking andserving utensils, and equipment are clean.• Responsible for packing meals, verifying shipments, performing follow-up inquiries with clients and makingreferrals to caseworkers when necessary; transports seniors as needed.
MINIMUM OR SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: High school diploma or GED.
Experience: Minimal experience, previous working experience with the elderly population preferred.2
Ability to obtain CPR and First Aid Certifications within 6 months of hire
Must possess a valid Stat of Michigan driver's license.
