About the Role:

Dr. Squatch's new facility – ‘Bricc City’ – in Brea, CA, is expanding manufacturing operations, andto support these efforts, we are looking for a Manufacturing Process Engineer to join Team Squatchthat wants to continue to improve and innovate the "art" of manufacturing and packaging coldprocess soap, and other men’s personal care products.

The Manufacturing Process Engineer will serve as the subject matter expert for our manufacturingprocesses, understanding our current processes and formulation, identifying innovative solutions forcontinuous improvement, and play an integral role in bringing in any new products or processes toBricc City.

The Manufacturing Process Engineer role will sit within our Engineering department, and will partnervery closely with our Production, Supply Chain, Product Development, and Quality teams to ensurethe quality of our products and processes and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.

The Manufacturing Process Engineer will collaborate in a very hands-on manner with ourProduction team, spending time on the manufacturing floor and working closely with operators asthe technical expert for the formulas and processes. The ideal candidate will balance the technical and scientific requirements of the role with creative problem-solving and cross-functionalcollaboration.

Additionally, the Manufacturing Process Engineer will help manage capital projects (equipment andconstruction) and continuous improvement projects. This role will lead and assist in the developmentof projects, determine the best solution and a plan to execute upon it.

This role will report to the Senior Project Engineering Manager. This is a full-time, onsite role with company benefits based in Brea, CA.

The anticipated base compensation range for this role will be $95,000 to $120,000. Compensation will be commensurate with the candidate's experience and local market rates.

What You'll Do:

Serve as the subject matter expert for all aspects of our manufacturing process, overseeingall changes to the production process, troubleshooting production issues related to themanufacturing process and control of critical parameters, and reviewing any new designs ormodifications to production equipment.

Represent Engineering as a technical expert in manufacturing projects, including overseeing the scale up of formulas to production, process optimization projects, and any other manufacturing improvement initiatives.

Serve as a technical liaison between Engineering and Production to ensure that all tradeoffs are assessed in alignment with Dr. Squatch’s strategic objectives.

Manage Dr. Squatch Manufacturing Engineering projects to ensure seamless execution of capital equipment and continuous improvement projects, while ensuring that all plans, communications and processes between the Engineering and Production stakeholders are clearly defined and properly delivered in alignment with Dr. Squatch’s strategic objectives

Work with the Engineering Team on equipment design/selection, cost-benefit analysis (BVOA), and budget approval process

Manage all aspects of project execution including scope, budget, cost estimates, schedule, site construction, safety, equipment installation, training, and turnover

Team up with functional leads in the areas of Safety, Maintenance, Production, Packaging, and Quality to clearly define project scope, deliverables, safety, and cost objectives, in order to appropriately hold Vendors accountable

Work with Maintenance, Production, and Packaging to lead the start-up, shake-down and initial operations of new installations, train operators, and troubleshoot issues

About You:

A minimum of 3 years of manufacturing engineering or process engineering experienceinvolving facility design (high tech facility design preferred).

Experience in both product development and process engineering

Experience in the personal care or related industry is highly desired.

Bachelors in Chemical Engineering degree

Demonstrated understanding of Lean Manufacturing/Continuous Improvementmethodologies.

Must have strong analytical and business judgment, including demonstrated problem-solving and troubleshooting skills

Solves highly complex problems and prioritizes actions in a timely manner. Probes allsources for answers and can quickly sense what will help resolve issues

Excellent oral and written communication - Proven ability to effectively communicatethroughout the organization: up, across, and down

Experience working in a manufacturing environment and having a working knowledge of cGMP’s

Demonstrated experience in equipment design and installation (e.g. tanks, pumps, pipeworkfabrication, packaging automation)

Certification in project management methodology (preferred)
