Manufacturing Engineer

The Manufacturing Engineer will be a part of the team setting a state-of-the-art modular manufacturing operation working with design, production, quality and supply chain teams. As we start production, this role will perform manufacturing planning, continuous improvement and sustaining activities required to support production teams meet throughput goals and improve overall efficiency with the overall goal of reducing cost of housing in California.
REQUIREMENTS / ESSENTIAL DUTIESAssist with establishing manufacturing and business practices and processes necessary to move fast while still producing high quality productsManage assemblies and their child components from design release through prototyping and production — lay out the build and test flow to ensure an efficient, high-quality product flow capable of scaling with timeDrive the assembly's first build and test effort through design integration, assembly sequencing, mBOM development, build and test work order creation, and specification authoringDevelop detailed work instructions, plan and manage manufacturing routings workflows in the MES systemDesign tools, jigs and fixtures as required to improve process speed and qualityDevelop, evaluate and improve manufacturing methods, utilizing knowledge of product design, materials and parts, fabrication processes, tooling and production equipment capabilities, assembly methods and quality control standards.Assist with time and process studies to evaluate work content, establish standards and labor requirements.Manage and assist with implementation of manufacturing software systems.Assure product and process quality by designing testing methods; testing finished- product and process capabilities; establishing standards; confirming manufacturing processes.Support the shop floor and production personnel through responsive issue resolution and provide upstream feedbackDevelop strong working relationships with Product Engineering, Quality, Procurement and production teams to ensure all company objectives can be metEDUCATION, SKILLS, ABLITIESBachelor's Degree in Engineering (mechanical, industrial or similar) or equivalent experience.3+ years' experience in a manufacturing environmentKnowledge of GD&TProficiency in AutoCAD and 3D CAD design software like SOLIDWORKS or Autodesk Inventor preferred.Self-starter that has demonstrated the ability to define and own a process from scratch and roll out that process through adept communication to a diverse teamStrong analytical and problem-solving skills.Working knowledge of typical manufacturing execution systems and quality management systems
