Responsible for monitoring the AHS's compliance in accordance with current applicable Federal, State and local dietary standards, guidelines, and regulations. Ensures that the highest degree of quality resident care is maintained at all times.

Principal Accountabilities:

1. Provides clinical nutrition assessment and documentation for metabolic (weight loss/ gain) and diabetes education patients. Age of patients ranges include pediatric, adolescent and adult based on competency of RD.

2. Maintains quality assurance and evaluates compliance with corporate policies and procedures and State and Federal guidelines.

3. Promotes community and team member health/ knowledge through developing and presenting in-services and presentations when available/ requested.

4. Provides Medical Nutrition Therapy and/ or Diabetes Self Management education to patient's based on care needs.

5. Integrates diabetes related technology into care plans/ education upon obtaining competency in individual technologies.

6. Maintains/ adheres to American Diabetes Association regulations for an ADA education center as well as all appropriate hospital regulatory agencies.

7. Reviews appropriate web sites, publications and other educational materials to ensure that the standards of practice are being achieved.

9. Obtains CDCES certification within 1 year of hire, if not already certified.

10. Performs other related duties as assigned

Required:

1. Bachelor's degree in Nutrition and Dietetics, Home Science or related field.

2. Licensed with the State of New Jersey as a Registered Dietician.

Preferred:

1. Master's degree in Nutrition and Dietetics, Home Science or related field.

2. 2-3 year's experience in acute care clinical nutrition or relevant area.

3. Epic Experience.
