Primary responsibilities of the Controller:

  • Budgeting/Cost Management
  • Cash Flow/Taxes/Reporting
  • Month-end Close procedures
  • IT Management/Risk Management
  • Benefit Plan Design

Essential Functions
• Responsible to analyze and interpret and report pertinent financial information to key management pertaining to the company's performance, and make recommendations on business policy, resource allocations, and business operations to improve financial performance
• Responsible to maintain the organization's accounting books and records, as well as adequate and effective internal controls system to safeguard company assets and maintain the accuracy and integrity of financial records
• Responsible to oversee, coach, mentor, evaluate, train, and hold all direct reports accountable
• Responsible to identify and develop high potential employees within Finance for greater responsibility and scope
• Responsible for developing and following all departmental Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
• Responsible to serve as liaison for company by forming/maintaining professional partnerships with, but not limited to corporate attorney; CPA firm, bank(s), and investment firms; outside benefit, financial and property & casualty insurance broker
• Responsible for financial statements, budgets, forecasting ensuring that variances are investigated and recommendation(s) to ensure strategic business plan objectives are met
• Responsible to report on 'costs and performance' toward meeting operational financial goals
• Responsible for developing and implementing goals, policies, priorities, and procedures on financial management, budget, accounting, and payroll
• Responsible to prepare periodic forecasts of the company's operating results and financial position
• Responsible to assist in the review and update to the strategic business plan,
• Responsible to establish and maintain the company's banking, treasury, and borrowing policies and procedures
• Responsible to conduct annual physical inventory and maintain an inventory control system to ensure the reliability and accuracy is met
• Responsible to assist with the year-end financial statement review/audit performed by the company's certified public accountants where required
• Responsible to review and report on organization's financial operating metrics, and discuss to problem solve and create action items
• Responsible to maintain general and subsidiary ledgers, accounts receivable, revenue, depreciation, cost, property, operating expense, and insurance records
• Responsible for overseeing all aspects of the company's hourly and salary payroll
• Partner with human resources to oversee health and welfare benefit plan design as well as risk management
• Responsible for other duties as assigned by manager

Required Skills/ Abilities:
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Excellent and highly accurate math and accounting skills
• Strong supervisory and leadership skills
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
• Self-directed, action-oriented, with ability to interact positively with employees at all levels
• Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines,
• Proficient with MS Office Suite or related software, and any other specialized accounting software used by organization
• Must be able to positively influence, direct, set priorities and hold direct reports accountable
• Extensive knowledge of federal and state payroll laws regarding employment practices

Education and Experience:
• Bachelors' degree in finance, accounting, or related field required
• Five years or more of related experience required
• Master's degree or a CPA a plus
• EOS exposure a plus

This position is fully on-site.
Salary Range: $120-150k
